SC430 Test Body

TJ's picture
For those of you that don't know, I have been running this body since 2008 at RCX. Why? Well the plastic that was used for this body is different from the one you have on your autoscale red/silver SC430. The testbody seemed to have the same or maybe close to the white body and both bodies can take more abuse than the fragile autoscale (red/silver) body. Why not just get the white body? I don't paint and I like the looks of autoscale body vs garage paint. One of the reason why I like mini-z is because of it's details and if I have to paint the body, I might as well run the body white. I think the unpainted white looks sick too but not when everyone's car is white. :D

I did a little bit of modification to the body like:

1. lowered down the side clips (side body mounts) by a millimeter or close to it.
2. shaved the rear fender well
3. trimmed all the canars, front bumper lip and rounded off every sharp corner on the side of the car. Referring specifically to the front side fenders.
4. cut out the window roof area
5. super glued the window with tire glue while pressing the side doors of the car. This way when the glue dries up, the body fits tight on the chassis and it stays this way until it's time to buy a new one. :)

6. Front bumper support. You can use the medical tape (white in color) then apply super glue to it. I use the black tire glue so that I wont have to worry about buying a new hard to find SC430 test body. It also added a little bit of weight in the front which I like btw.

7. Then added the PN number sticker, white wheels and orange spoiler just so I can see where the car is. lol...

That is all folks! See you at the track!
