MR03: ATM lower arm

TJ's picture

I didn't know the name of this product is, "reinforced fast set-up lower arm"? hehe... Anyway, I just got this part this afternoon. The only reason why I bought this is because kyosho's lower arm is not perfectly straight. It has a bump right in the middle. RCP/Tire dust can get in the servo gears from here and also, your suspension arm is not as straight as how you'd want it to be. On my current MR03, I have mine glued to the chassis (tiny drop of glue. not permanently attached ok?) This is to keep both lower arm, flat, level and even as possible.

This kit comes with 3x screws but only 2 will be used. The other one is for, "oh snaps!" lol..
FYI... per USA Atomic Rep, "please use the screw that comes with the kit!"

This is why I bought this:

Try removing your stock lower cover and see if it is as flat as this ATM lower arm. Most of them are not...

Also when the lower arm is screwed in on the chassis, there's less flexing on the lower arm than kyosho's and Oh yeah, this makes the removing of toe bar easier than than stock. I think this is what they made this for...

Please stay tuned...

Update: 3.1.2010

Installation is very straight forward. Took me less than 10 mins to do. Snapping the kingpin ball into the socket was very tight. Tighter than stock lower cover. This is causing the kingpin to bind on the socket/ball cup. You may need to grind off some material from the ball or the cup. As for me, I didn't do any shaving. I just kept it as it is. On the track, I didn't feel any difference... The lower arm probably had gained 1-1.5 grams heavier than stock.

Next I'll take a pic of the ATM's upper cover with alum bar. This one is cool with the PN upper arm. It got rid of the upper arm slop. I'll post some pic tomorrow.

Thanks for reading!
